What protections do wetlands enjoy?

Wetlands in the City of Revere enjoy protection primarily through the Wetlands Protection Act Chapter 131 Section 40. Activity proposed in wetlands are required to obtain a permit called an Order of Conditions which place limitations on such activity to ensure that the interests of the Wetlands Protection Act are complied with. Such limitations may include the location of inhabitable space on a piece of land or the quantity and quality of surface water runoff that can be generated.
