The official determination of whether a property is in a flood zone is obtained by hiring a Professional Land Surveyor to prepare an elevation certificate for the property. An unofficial determination can be made by viewing you property on the Flood Insurance Rate Map either at the Conservation Commission web page http://www.revere.org/departments/conservation-commission or the FEMA Map Service Center. https://msc.fema.gov/portal Only a signed and stamped elevation certificate is suitable to provide to your Mortgagor to determine whether it is necessary to purchase flood insurance.
