What is the Revere Department of Planning and Community Development?

The Department of Planning and Community Development is primarily responsible for city planning and land use; urban design and development; zoning and permitting policies and procedures; and a variety of civic improvement programs including improvements to parks and playgrounds, streets and sidewalks. The Broadway Storefront/Signage Improvement Programs and the Shirley Avenue Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) falls within its purview, as do the Planning Board, the Conservation Commission and the Site Plan Review Committee. The Department is responsible to administering the CDBG, Chapter 90, MassWorks and CIT/I&I Trust programs that fund many of these civic and community efforts.
