What is a Special Permit?

Special Permits are required for the specific uses within specific districts that are defined as such under the zoning use regulation table. Special Permits may only be issued by the City Council after a public hearing for those defined uses and for any modifications of existing non-conforming uses and structures other than single and two family dwellings. If the Site Plan Review Committee determines that a Special Permit is required for a project, Special Permit applications can be obtained from the City Clerk in City Hall or by visiting https://fcms.s3.amazonaws.com/GB7r14nbKy-1182/docs/Special-Permit-Application-and-Filing-Instructions.pdf.
