How can I apply for a variance?
Category:
Zoning Board of Appeals
When property improvement plans are submitted for review by the City’s Site Plan Review Board, the SPRB determines whether or not the proposed project is in conformance with existing zoning. If it is not, the Board will issue a rejection letter, on the basis of which an application for a variance can be made to the Zoning Board of Appeals in City Hall. The ZBA will schedule and hold a public hearing to determine whether the proposed variance is warranted for this property and is otherwise in the best interest of the community; and on that basis, they will vote to approve or disapprove the requested variance.
