What are the regulations around storage of household waste?

The city requires that all exterior property be kept free of any accumulation of garbage. The Board of Health requires that all containers used for the storage of household waste be physically placed in the rear or side yard of the residence, and out of the public view. Containers used for the storage waste shall be watertight and rodent-proof with tight-fitting covers. Said containers shall be made of metal or other durable, rodent-proof material. Use only rodent-resistant or compactor trash bags for the storage of waste.
